Sound Start Literacy

Sound Start Literacy provides instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3. Lessons are designed to build skills systematically across grade levels while allowing teachers to adjust instruction based on student needs. It can also be used with older students reading below benchmark who require code based and morphology instruction.

Sound Start develops foundational reading and language skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, morphology, comprehension, and sentence level writing. Skills are taught explicitly and systematically so students continually build on previous learning.
